choral elite was fine! i've always been an admirer (is that how you spell it?) of the vj/vc/tvc singers. proness that i cannot achieve! pity i sat in the circle 3 seats that were soooo high up and impossible to see their faces. best part is, there were seats available in the foyer after intermission T.T had supper at gluttons bay. had carrot cake and the food there is sedap manz! hahaha

paraphrased (stll exercising GP skills lol) from Words of Life- we often lose ourselves in merry-making, festivities of celebrating Christmas. tonnes of shopping, eating, cooking or carolling. we do all these for impression, sense of self-fulfillment, and of course wanting to please others. and God. but does it bring REAL JOY? Isaiah 1 says God was fed up with the Israelites' festivals and feasts, that there were too many sacrifices and burnt offerings. they ended up being "unclean" with all the blood and dirt in their hands when they prayed to God.
sometimes i feel we kind of forget the REAL meaning of Christmas- to celebrate Christ's birth in a humble manger in Bethlehem. God's will for the Jesus was and is to let His only Son die on the cross to save the whole world. what a thought!

took me almost 1.5 hours to get this straight. i hope the comment window isn't too giant for your screens.
oh well i doubt anyone has the time to come here. this place isn't that well publicised anyway :/

a levels a levels a levels! totally the death (and life) of me. and the rest of the JC2/CI3 population. i liked how this week passed sooo quickly, the pain and exhaustion were all part of the process. and i have learnt something different. REALLY different from the o levels: mental stamina. please, if you look back on o levels, it's a speck of dust you can flick away. this time you're covered in dirt grime etc etc and it really gets frustrating at times.

woo 101th post for the new link!

about a year ago, after knowing the house comm AND cca comm results, i asked myself: what the hell have i got myself into? house comm member + SL + 4H2-er. not trying to boast here, but i have have never regretted anything, after realising that, hey, I WILL AND CAN AND MUST SURVIVE. if i don't go for it, will anyone else do? look at the bunch of ~~clowns~~ great friends i have made above (we should definitely take a nicer photo(s)!) i'm sort of glad i acted on my (small) impulse to join house comm.

Matthew 6:25, 34 says - "[25]Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. simple yet powerful. it's the verse that jolted me to my senses, and the driving force in living each day without worrying over the everythingt and anything. of course, being too worry-free is an extreme to be avoided.

it's quite an experience climbing up and downthe HDB block giving out fliers and getting donations. you get to meet people with all kinds of character, all kinds of animals(well dogs mostly) and all kinds of house furnishings. it's a great policy of the government to allocate each race a quota for each block, i.e. you have a good mix of chinese,malay, indian or eurasian home owners in each block.

that aside, singaporeans are quite generous from what i gather. though we may shun(not ALL of us lah. still got people donate what) those tin cans for flag days, most of them are willing (and able) to contribute at least a purple note(you should know the amount), while those with a big heart, the red one (though blue or orange not seen thus far).

this "Project R.I.C.E.", i believe is going to be a huge success, despite the recession and rising food prices and inflation etc etc etc.
really, I mean it! :D it's the first of it's kind here, and i bet that the collection will be quite significant.

it's 1.22am and i'm still wide awake. well not exactly wide but enough energy to keep my eyes open and utilise/synthesise some ATP through respiration(in bio mode?!)

so glad that it's over. now that was a virtual shout. imagine if i were to scream that in your face. :D

watched MAMMA MIA! this afternoon, quite entertaining, the actors could really sing. :D pierce brosnan sounded kinda weird though. and i can't stand his hairy chest. uggghhh. the part when he took off his shirt when the ground cracked and water spurt out like a geyser. however you spell it. it's literally melodramatic. geddit? i always thought this movie was a remake of some similar MAMMA MIA! muscial long ago. but i was wrong. the plot's ridiculously original. not that i don't like it.
to add to all that drama, there was this weird loner sitting diagonally behind me(right at the back of the movie theatre,smack in the damn middle of the hall)singing his heart OUT for EVERY SINGLE SONG. you name it you have it: dancing queen,mamma mia,chiquitita,the winner takes it all,money money money etc etc.

UNBEARABLE. like why am i fretting over this? because it spoilt my movie experience. and he was the ONLY SOUL to be doing that. even during the sad parts when we're supposed to feel sad/angry/seroius, my friends and i were laughing like crazy because of him.

guess it's not a crime to be an ardent fan of mamma mia, but dude, that's overkill.

one whole month without my maid. i miss her. not for her work but her being around to take care of the house and us. her cooking/baking rocks.and she's been with our family since i was in pri 4 i think. gotta change my lifestyle in a way such that i have to do some housework now.ugghh

lastly,survivor gabon. the place is breath-taking,full of GREEN and nothing but green green grass and wild animals living in freedom in the supposedly "Last Eden on Earth". quite a line up of contestants this year. an olympic champion(Athens 2004 track and field relay),many lawyers,a professional gamer(s0 not the average geek),a few nurses and a pin-up model who names herself "SUGAR" to hide her real identity(like whatever for)
another case of one team pwning the other in all three challenges in today's episode. i really can't stand the defeatist attitude some of them possess. oh well it's too early to judge anything,but so far this is the vibe i'm getting from some of them.

gosh. we're all leading really different lives now. sometimes i just wish we could get back to the old days in sec/pri school when everything was more carefree, you could laugh/cry/fight and just forget about it the next day. but now it just seems like a reality check. whatever you're doing now hits you like a brick. no, make that a thousand millions bricks.

grrrrrrrrrrrr can't wait for 3 june to come. :D it's gonna be one heck of a journey to Europe. hell, it's gonna worth it WOOHOOOOOOOO :D
